This puppy portrait was taken at Bethesda Terrace in Central Park, NYC.
When I am photographing a dog it's really no different than when I'm photographing a person. It all comes down to trust. How do I build trust with the wonderful pup? Well....dog treats! But I also make sure to talk to their parent and make sure I know everything I need to know about the dogs personality. Of course, having the dog's owner there during the puppy portrait session is always required and that adds to the comfort of whatever dog I am photographing.
Bethesda Terrace is an excellent location to take portraits of dogs because of all the architecture throughout the park. Any time of the year, this part of Central Park looks the same. It really is an ideal location!
