This portrait was taken at the Rittenhouse hotel in Philadelphia PA.
I always make time on the wedding day to photograph the couple individually. In this portrait, the bride, Sarah, is standing in front of the wedding venue. I had my assistant bring out her veil a bit and then let it go right before I took the photograph to capture a sense of movement. I also particularly enjoy the female statue behind Sarah which I thought was some interesting repetition in the image. Since the statue was slightly off to the right I purposely had the bride stand to the left to balance everything out. It also allowed more room for her gaze and the flowing veil.
