I always take detail shots on a wedding day. I will photograph them during the getting ready pictures, ceremony, and reception.
In this picture the bride, Sarah, was finishing getting ready when her nephew decided to pay her a visit. When he sat up on Sarah's lap I realized he had incredible taste in socks. That gave me the idea to photograph his socks and shoes next to her painted nails and shoes. I loved the juxtaposition of their different styles. I cropped the photograph just right to show a little smirk on his face as well. I thought this added some interest to an otherwise traditional detail picture.
