This photo was taken in Allentown, PA.
Emily wanted to get married at the same church that her grandmother got married at. I thought that was a beautiful story and a lovely tradition for her family. She requested that I take portraits of her in front of the church on the steps which acted as the perfect location to also show off the train of her dress.
The natural light was not ideal in this location but I knew that I needed to shoot in this location because it had meaning to Emily. This is why it is an extremely important part of my job to be able to create beautiful light in any situation that I am in. I had my assistant stand next to Emily holding a flash. I used the light from the flash to correct the unflattering natural light. I then edited out my assistant and created this photo for Emily.
